HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE?

Even if there is no medical proof that it works, and you may not be suffering a heart attack. A heart attack will lead to unconsciousness very rapidly. If you are quick enough to react and it may allow you to wait for the ambulance, would you not try all you can? But make sure you have called 999 first.

Please pause for 2 minutes and read this:

1. Let’s say it’s 7.25pm and you’re going home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job.

2. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated.

3. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about five km from the hospital nearest your home.

4. Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far. Call 999 for help, it may take a few minutes for the ambulance to arrive.

5. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy who taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.

6. HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

7. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

8. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

9. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!

10. A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail kindly sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we’ll save at least one life.

11. Rather than sending jokes, please… contribute by forwarding this mail which can save a person’s life.

12. If this message comes around you… more than once… please don’t get irritated… You should instead, be happy that you have many friends who care about you & keeps reminding you how to deal with a Heart attack.

Sliding scale for price

Hello everyone.
Ever heard of sliding scale pricing. A client mentioned it to me yesterday and I think it’s a fantastic idea. I had not heard of it before but I believe it could be the way to make nutritional therapy accessible to a lot more people, the answer to my prayers.
How does it work? Instead of asking for a fixed price per session, I would offer a range such as sliding scale between £15 and £45 for the initial consultation (typically one hour long) and sliding scale between £5 and £35 for further sessions (typically half hour long). Clients can relate to their own situation and pay what they are comfortable is suitable for my service and/or what they are happy they can afford within the offered range.
What do you think? Is that something you would be glad of? Would you like to be offered the opportunity of nutritional help this way?
I will be glad to help. Get in touch if you need more information or to book your appointment.

Tropical smoothie

I recently discovered this smoothie recipe. Only had to try it once and I was hooked; all my taste buds are having a party and my body feels good for the nutrients, vitamins and minerals in the mix and I can relax and enjoy this treat. No stress and easy to prepare.

You will need:

250ml of milk (I use soya milk but coconut or even goat milk is ok)

2 organic free range raw eggs (optional)

1-2 tablespoons of raw (unheated) honey

2-3 slices of fresh or frozen pineapple (medium thick)

1/2 mango fresh or frozen

2 medium size bananas (fresh or frozen)

That’s it. Put it all in the blender and it should serve about 4 large glasses.

ENJOY. It is particularly good if you are recovering from illness and trying rebuild your strength and energy levels.

Overcome over-active thyroid

I have been working as a nutritionist-herbalist at the Haven Heath Clinic since last November.

Although I can help and treat various conditions and illnesses, I specialise in the treatments of gall and kidney stones, weak immune system and my big favourite, the treatment of over-active thyroid.

It is my favourite because, like many people, I suffered the consequences of an over-active thyroid. If you are in this situation, you may be familiar with symptoms of itchy skin, weight loss, tremors and palpitations, feeling unusually hot and extreme fatigue. Your thyroid guides the speed of your body’s metabolism. When it becomes over-active, it produces more hormones, telling the rest of the body to go faster and therefore making you feel as if you are running marathons back to back every day.

From these symptoms, doctors will organise a blood test to check thyroid levels (TSH, T3, T4). Be encouraged to ask for a complete test of your blood levels as often the liver function will be struggling too (and ask for a copy of your results to take home).

But based on thyroid results alone, the suggested treatments will be : beta-blockers which block the effects of the excess thyroid hormones; anti-thyroid drugs (methymazole, propylthiouracil (PTU)) which actually interfere with the thyroid gland’s ability to make its hormones. The later are usually very effective at controlling hyperthyroidism within a few weeks but, apart from side effects, hyperthyroidism will come back as soon as treatment is discontinued. So it is often a life time treatment with radioactive iodine treatment being offered as an alternative. And of course, if that doesn’t work there is the last resort to surgery where the thyroid gland is removed, and hormone replacement will have to be taken (thyroxine) for the rest of your life.

Has anything positive been achieved? I am convinced it has not and for that reason, I refused all conventional treatment and went all out for nutrition and herbal treatment.

Once you start your natural treatment, you will start feeling better within a few weeks as thyroid hormones levels go down. But this treatment aims at resetting your thyroid in the way it should function and so it could tale at least 6 months to bring the hormones levels back to normal for a lasting effect. That means they will stay normal even when you stop the herbal treatment and even when you go back to eating a normal healthy diet.

I did it on my own and it is certainly worth doing. You can be well again and drug free. You will need dedication and firm determination but you can do it.

If you decide to commit to this, I will be happy to come along side you to help and encourage you.

God bless you all.

I believe in the power of prayer

As well as medical books, I take the time to read Christian books. And when I came across this prayer in a book called Lead me Holy Spirit by Stormie Omartian I wanted it to encourage you too.

Being healthy, feeling good, means for our body and our mind, which are very closely connected, to be well tuned. To that effect this prayer has helped me and it can also help you should you choose to read it.

“Lord, I pray You will give me the ability to walk away from any destructive habits I have with regards to caring for my body. Keep me ever mindful that my body is your temple and I need to take care of it. Help me to follow Your leading in every decision I make each day, especially what I put into my body and how I exercise. Help me to value my body enough to look after it. I confess the times I have been critical of my body and not grateful to You for it. Forgive me for that. Keep me from ever judging or mistreating it in any way.
Lord, help me to always observe a day of rest each week. Enable me to do it to Your glory so that I am rejuvenated in my body, mind, and emotions. Help me to give my body and mind rest from all else but Your voice to my heart. You know what is best for me because You created me. So I ask You to reveal to me all I need to do and avoid doing. Give me the discipline and self-control I need to carry it out. I know that self-control is a fruit of the Spirit, so I pray I will have such a manifestation of self-control that it will be explained no other way than as a gift from You.
In Jesus’ name I pray.”

A couple of references you can also look up are 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 and Romans 12:1
